I asked my daughter said she doesn’t feel like she has missed anything with a disabled mom. She actually said it gives her motivation.

I have attempted wheelchair basketball on a team and I have never really been athletic even though I was 5'10" before being in a chair. Used to get asked constantly if I played in high school bc of my height. Lol (I was actually a band nerd) It was fun but I definitely had a difficult time. The coach would send me off by myself to practice dribbling and all kinds of things bc this girl just didn't have it together 😂. But it was a fun experience and I would do it again for fun with some friends. I would pretty much be starting all over and I would probably be more like edna lol having a good time but not taking it too seriously. Congrats black team and Danika on your wins! I've enjoyed watching the episodes so far as well. Being a T5 complete para for 13 years it's just really cool to see more people in chairs out doing things and living life! 🎉❤

I play wheelchair basketball for an English team , those are all wheelchair rugby chairs. The first thing you said when someone is alone ram them no no basketball is non contact . You can tactically position your chair infront of theirs to stop them advancing.

My husband and I have been married for 31 years. We raised two girls (now 27 & 23) and I own my own business and he works in private wealth management. I’ve been in my chair for 34 years, even though I am an incomplete quadriplegic, we still figured out how to raise two incredible women! I’m not going to say it was easy because there were times when it really wasn’t..as you know. Watching this video of the two of you reminded me so much of ourselves at your age. You should both be so proud of what you are doing, not just in your jobs but the way you are raising your child! She will see the world differently because of the two of you and that’s a really good thing! Your little girl is so lucky to have two parents who love her as much as you do! Keep up the good work and don’t be afraid to have more children because you will just figure it out!! Much love 💕

Your conversation with Jay really resonated with me! I always said I needed a rock in my life that would stand by my side through it all and I’m blessed to have found it. Going on 17 years married. I’m a C6 and he has never seen the wheelchair. I also recognize how much he does (trash and dog poop) to make our lives easier. You’ve got a great one too!

Not me crying because i can relate so hard... I wish that when we met few years back I got to talk to you more about being a mom in a wheelchair, last time I had 1 now I have 3 and my husbands able-bodied, I sometimes feel guilty because my husband has to do a lot of the physical labor but I do what I can like bathing, them cooking for them taking them out to play. my youngest is almost 2 and loves when I carry her but my 5 & 3 year old are too big for me to carry in my chair it makes me sad sometimes that I cant do certain activities with them but we make do. just the other day my son was riding his bike and we got a rope and tied it to his bike and I held the other end while he pulled me in my wheelchair, he absolutely loved it! we find things that able-bodied moms cant do & we make amazing memories. You're doing amazing chels, keep pushing on! (no pun intended) and please message me on ig if you'd like to just vent or talk about these things, I know I could use a friend who gets it.❤❤
